ORGANIC SPIRULINA & ALFALFA POWDER | Spirulina is a type of oceanic algae that contains a wide array of nutrients. Known as one of the main SUPER FOODS, spirulina can provide your body with many different health benefits. I love spirulina powder because it is jam packed with goodies for your body! Just one 3-gram pinch contains 60 percent protein and an excellent source of vitamins A, K1, K2, B12 and iron, manganese and chromium. It is a rich source of health-giving phytonutrients such as carotenoids, GLA, SOD and phycocyanin, while also containing 2800 percent more beta-carotene than carrots! Aside from all of its nutrients, spirulina also has a ton of beauty benefits, when applied topically; it soothes and calms  rosacea and sensitive skin,-aids in eliminating acne causing bacteria on the skin and face, helps the skin store moisture, and chlorophyll helps clean the skin and strengthen tissues! Whats not to love?

HIMALAYAN PINK SALT | Himalayan salt contains 84 (WOW) minerals and elements within its crystals. It detoxifies the body by balancing systemic pH.
It also improves hydration by providing trace minerals to the skin. Himalayan salt is widely regarded for its mineral content. In addition to sodium, Himalayan salt is relatively high in iron, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, potassium and chloride. It also contains traces of boron, fluoride, iodine, zinc, selenium and copper, all of which are necessary for bodily health. As a naturally occurring salt, Himalayan salt contains all these minerals without chemical processing or refinement. Ground down to a fine size, himalayan salt makes for the perfect exfoliant. It helps scrub away old, dead skin, while leaving beautiful growing and nourished skin behind.

ORGANIC BROWN & CANE SUGAR | Brown sugar is a wonderful addition to any exfoliating scrub. Softer than raw and white sugar, brown sugar is gentler on the skin, which makes it a great choice when exfoliating the face or sensitive skin areas. Brown sugar contains glycolic acid, that fights bacteria. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxyl acid, which is important in keeping your skin vivacious and healthy. Brown sugar gives you younger and fresher looking skin by breaking down glue-bonded skin cells which supports cell turnover. It also helps to improve sun damage and offers support to aging skin. Certain exfoliators can leave your skin dry and dull. Brown sugar is a natural humectant so it absorbs moisture from your environment and deposits it into your skin. Hydrating and conditioning, brown sugar helps to keep the moisture locked in. It also guards your skin from destructive toxins and keeps it healthy, nourished and glowing.

ORGANIC SHEA BUTTER | Shea butter is a skin superfood that comes from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea (Karite) tree and that is naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F. It offers UV protection (SPF-6) and provides the skin with essential fatty acids and the nutrients necessary for collagen production. The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin. It is often used to remedy dry skin and to help protect the skin’s natural oils. Studies have also proved that due to the presence of cinnamic acid and other natural properties, shea butter acts as an anti-inflammatory. Shea butter aids in the skin’s natural collagen production and contains oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic acids that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying. With long-term use, many people report skin softening and strengthening as well as wrinkle reduction.

ORGANIC AVOCADO OIL | The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents in avocado oil help your skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic. It is the high level of Vitamin E that prevents the skin from inflammations and itchiness thereby helping skin to maintain its health and softness. The antioxidants present in the oil is also found to be capable of soothing even sunburned skin. Research works have proved that they are effective against skin related diseases like eczema. It is a wonderful oil for moisturizing skin and also has an anti-aging properties.

ORGANIC COCONUT OIL | Coconut oil is an excellent skin moisturizer. It is a gentle, yet thorough cleanser, too! It softens the keratin caps on skin and makes exfoliation much easier. The light, spreading texture of coconut oil enables it to seep into the skin, bringing it clogged debris and dirt to the skin's surface. Coconut oil also acts as an antibacterial shield. The antibacterial properties of coconut oil protect the skin from potential pathogens. More importantly, it can reduce the risk of bacterial infections worsening acne. Coconut oil is also a natural protectant against sunburn, with an SPF of 4. We are also excited to have coconut oil in this scrub because coconut oil can reduce facial wrinkles. Wrinkles can mar the youthful look of facial skin. Coconut oil can preserve the smoothness of the face by keeping it wrinkle-free. Collagen, a structural protein in the inner layers of skin, is what keeps the skin elastic and smooth. It may breakdown due to the effect of UV rays, pollution, smoking, and physical injuries. Replacement of collagen is necessary to counteract the effects of its breakdown. It has been found that coconut oil has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin. The triglycerides in the oil attract protein molecules, ensuring timely repair of the collagen layer. WE LOVE COCONUT OIL!

ORGANIC GRAPESEED OIL | Grapeseed oil is high in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), mostly omega-6 fatty acids. Grapeseed oil is a good source of vitamin E, which works as a fat-soluble antioxidant to help protect your cells from damaging free radicals that have been associated with cancer, heart disease, and other chronic illnesses. Vitamin E also supports your immune system. Grapeseed oil is often used to moisturize skin, heal acne, lighten skin, tighten pores, and reduce the appearance of scars. Grapeseed oil is a great addition to scrubs because is penetrates your skin quickly and doesn't leave you feeling oily or greasy.

VITAMIN E | Vitamin E is both a nutrient and antioxidant, and the oil in its purest form is extremely versatile. The National Institutes of Health Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) explains that it is an antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals, which damage cells and might contribute to cardiovascular disease and cancer, reactive oxygen species (ROS) formed in the body when it converts food to energy, and environmental exposures such as pollution and ultraviolet radiation.
